The Independent Institute of Lay Adventist of Kigali (INILAK) has announced that it is set to start offering programmes of Masters in Business Administration beginning October this year.
According to Richard Niyonkuru, the Vice Rector in charge of Administration and Finance at INILAK, the institute got approval from the Ministry of Educationin July to begin masters’ courses.
He said that the institute is planning to introduce other masters’ programmes including; Master of Education, Criminal Law and Master of Development Studies set to start early next year.
Speaking to www.ubwenge.com Bideri Ishuheri Nyamulinda, the Coordinator of Masters’ programmes at INILAK said that the move will facilitate people who used to commute every weekend to neighboring countries in search of post graduate programmes. He said that the cost for studying the programmes will be affordable.
Mean while the institute is also set to introduce a new faculty by September this year. The Faculty of Environmental Studies will consist of the departments of Environmental Management and Conservation’ and ‘Emergency and Disaster Management.
It is expected to train skilled and professional graduates who will greatly contribute in the fight against disaster.
Following last month’s Partnership Agreement between INILAK and the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography which is a branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, INILAK will acquire a full GIS laboratory.
The state-of-the-art laboratory and one of its kind in the will boost research in the fields of environmental management, and enable faculty students to get very practical skills based on reliable data.
