Furthermore, RWIGAMBA BALINDA’s FOUNDATION finances students deprived of financial capacities with a grant (a loan), without any interest at Gisenyi Campus as well as at Kigali. Since its creation in 2001 up to now, the Foundation has granted bursaries to 2011 students so as they might complete the 4 years of university studies.

ULK CARREER ADVISOR CENTRE (CAC)
Based on its mission and objectives the centre offers a spectrum of services focusing mainly on two main pillars; employability skills and entrepreneurship skills. For expanding our services, ULK CAC has opened two offices on both campuses (Kigali and Gisenyi). Our clients include prospective and current students, graduates and companies.
The current challenge is that Rwanda has an increasing number of graduates going on to the labour market with skills and mostly in search for employment. But even with best education background, graduates cannot all be assured of getting a job because there aren’t enough companies and organizations to employ them. ULK through the CAC, has found essential to promote entrepreneurial attitude among students and graduates and equip them with entrepreneurial skills in order to help them to create jobs instead of being job seekers.
RESEARCH, CONSULTANCY AND COOPERATION
This is indispensable to understand the following information on Research, Consultancy and Cooperation. Research, is not always “the way of creating new knowledge”. Since its creation, ULK has made research in different ways like: Memoirs (license Degrees’ Dissertations)which have been made in various domains, scientific articles are published in ULK Scientific Review by lecturers ,presentation of Masters dissertations by ULK lecturers and PhD theses.
ULK Consultancy service has the objective of promoting the University’s consultancy capabilities to external parties and providing comprehensive services which take different areas.
Based on the ULK strategies of cooperation, the achievements during fifteen years of its existence are outstanding. ULK signed a Memorandum of Understanding with various Universities, ULK is a founder member of African Union of Private Universities (AUPU), and ULK plays a big role in organisation of «Association Rwandaise d’Institutions Privées d’Enseignement Supérieur» (ARIPES) meetings .Since four years , ULK is involved in Cooperation with NUFFIC through CILC ( Center for International Legal Cooperation ) in the Kingdom of Netherlands. This cooperation has strengthened the ULK capacity in staff development as well as infrastructure development.
From the very start, ULK opened a Language Centre with a vision to produce a population with the relevant knowledge and skills of English to propagate the growth and development of the community.
