The Higher Institute of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry (ISAE) has introduced a weekly science dialogue with the aim of promoting a culture of research in the institute.
The Dialogue dubbed ‘Wednesday Science Dialogue (WSD) will feature sharing of experiences among the research and academic members through the Directorate of Research, Technology Transfer and Consultancy (DRTTC).
According to the Director of DRTTC, Dr. Elie Muhinda Mugunga research is the engine of education and development and that experience sharing among researcher is the best way to trigger the research spirit in Academic and research Institutions.
At the dialogue this week, Dr. Muhinda gave a presentation as a Feedback on the Workshop on public private discussion on Rwanda’s Macadamia sector held at RDB headquarters in August 2012.
Then an open discussion was an opportunity for the participants to share their respective experiences on Macadamia commodity and its importance in income generation and its high return on investment.
Researchers were reminded that Macadamia and Moringa plants are among the emergent industrial crops in the country to which ISAE pays due attention in its commodity priority setting because of their high potential to play a significant role in poverty reduction.
The dialogue is expected to be a continuous practice to allow all ISAE Academics and researchers in general to share their experiences and contribute to sustained scientific spirit and a science culture.
